Wiesbaden, September 4, 2007. The SGL Group – The Carbon Company – today acquired Dr. Schnabel GmbH & Co KG. Headquartered in Limburg/Lahn, this company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of fluorine plastic apparatus for corrosion protection. Both companies have agreed to treat the purchase price as confidential.
Integration of the Dr. Schnabel activities into the global sales network of the SGL Group Business Line Process Technology (PT) will now give customers throughout the world access to complementary corrosion protection products in the premium segment.

Delivery of the worldwide tallest PTFE-lined column
The illustration shows only one quarter of the entire column
Dr. Schnabel GmbH & Co KG just completed the delivery of the tallest column in the world.
The column is 42 meters high and has a diameter of more than one meter. The POLYFLURON®-paste-extruded PTFE-lining has a wall thickness of nominal 8mm.
The delivery was several weeks before the official delivery date, because of the well experienced team at Dr. Schnabel and the perfect logistics.
